Final Reflection

This semester has been a great one. I have learned a ton of information that I can now use on a daily basis, and we also learned about programs that can really enhance our teaching. One of the most important things we covered was internet security. If we are not carfeul, we can compromise oursleves, our familes, and future business ventures. It is most important to stay alert while surfing the web, and to never give out any perosnal inofrmation unless it is a secure site.

My favorite program we learned about was I-Movie. Making our technique videos was a great experience. It allowed us to step out of our comfort zone and teach others on camera. I-movie was a fun program and easy to use. I can now use it for personal projects and for teaching. Now that I know how to use all of these new things, I feel mich more prepared to enter the world of teaching and business. Thank you Dan for teaching our class!

Web 2.0

My favorite program on web 2.0 is Google Wave:https://wave.google.com/wave/?pli=1 This program allows you to talk to multiple people in real time, but still typing of course. You can invite as many people to each wave as needed and have real time chatting one on one or as a grop. This would be a great program to using in business collaboration or for a school project. A+ for thsi program.

Studio Code

Studio Code is a very interesting program. At first it was very difficult to learn all of the steps in completing our project, but over time, I finally figured it all out. It's pretty cool that you can label your different phrases so that they are easier to access instead of having to watch your whole video to find out where you make your mistakes while teaching. This will also be a good tool when wanting to take out certain clips on a video. Overall, this is a great program, but a little difficult when just beginning.

Teaching

Teaching this semster has been a wonderful experience. I did not know what to expect when we began, but I have really learned to love what I do. It is no longer a burden or a challenge to work with elementary PE classes and I have learned more about myself more than anyone or anything else. I have always enjoyed teaching, but it was uaually with people my age or older. It was a whole new experience working with elementary children.

Over the course of my many lessons, I have worked out the kinks over time. When first teaching, managing time and organizing the children seemed to be the most difficult task at hand. Those are now things that are a natural extension and come together with time and preparation. I always found myself saying phrases like "you guys" and other repetitive phrases just from being nervous, but as time went on, I saw myself becoming more of a teacher than a teacher in training.

Over the next few semesters I am looking forward to teaching older students and growing as a better teacher. My goal is to always have control of the class and to be the most prepared that I can be to better their education. As time goes on, I will still make mistakes, but my goal is to not repeat the same mistake twice.

Learning From Myself

It has been a fun opportunity to watch myself teach. Even better, it is fun to look for my own mistakes. A lot of growing occurs in oneself by critiquing your own mistakes. Over time, even though I still wont be perfect, I will be able to perfect my teaching so that it has an impact on others. It is a process that might not ever end, but the process of perfecting is one that cant be matched.

Video

I-Video was a very fun and easy program to use. I am grateful for this technology and think its a great way to spread ideas and skills. I really enjoyed adding music to the video along with our own personal technique video. Please enjoy the video

Instructional Video

For my video, I am going to create a technique video of what to do in a close wrestling match in the last few seconds. It is most important of knowing what to do in the situation because it means winning or losing. This is what will happen in my video:

First I will use a friend at my opponent and explain the situation. It is important that we are in wrestling attire to get the crowds attention.

Then I will place him in the move, moving slowly and explaining as I go.

Once I complete the move slowly, I will repeat the move quickly, showing full speed.

I will then once more go over the cues of the move.

This video will be important to those who see it and will feel confident once watching it.
